EducationalQualifications:Ph.D. 2019, at University of Tokyo, Japan. M.Sc. 2016, at University of Tokyo, Japan. B.Sc. 2014, at University of Tokyo, Japan. ●The main focusof our research is determining the genomes of non-model insects and conducting genetic analyses based on that genomic information. Although we are in the “post-genome” era, we still have not fully elucidated the functions of individual genes. Furthermore, when it comes to species with complex genome structures, even obtaining the genomic sequence itself is a challenge. Even for the silkworm—a fundamental organism in textile science—we humanity has not yet succeeded in constructing a complete and perfect genome assembly. It is not our job to judge what is perfect, but fortunately, technology is advancing rapidly every day.
