Assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF, ICSI, and embryotransfer provide hope for couples who desire children. Recent reports showing aICSI. Whiledecrease in male sperm counts emphasize the importance ofeffective sperm selection is vital for improving fertilization rates and reducingabnormalities, it currently depends on experience rather than clear criteria. Ourresearch suggests the potential to identify viable sperm through mathematicalanalysis of morphology. Moreover, preserving fertility in adolescent and youngadult (AYA) cancer patients is critical. Our success in developing techniques forretrieving and culturing immature oocytes from excised ovaries in ovarian cancercases enables both cancer treatment and fertility preservation, resulting insuccessful pregnancies and live births. The work of anesthesiologists is to protect patients' lives and maintainhomeostasis during the perioperative period. To achieve these goals, itis necessary to understand and controlthe human body as anintegrated system composed of many subsystems, such as thenervousimmune response, andnutritional management. We study various medical fields including pain, analgesics, intraoperative monitoring, postoperative complications, andthe mechanisms of immune response and neurogenic regulation.circulation,Cardiovascular anesthesia with many kinds of monitorsResearch on mechanism of pain with electrophysiological methodhead morphology・Research aiming to establish a method for effective sperm selection based on sperm・Improvement of fertility preservation methods for the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA)cancer population・Culturing of immature oocytes retrieved from excised ovariesWe hope that that our research results lead to the automatic sorting of good sperm, improved sperm selection accuracy, and, thus, reductions in the incidence of chromosomalabnormalities.Improvements in fertility-preserving technologies for patients with AYACancer may enhance their motivation in cancer treatments. After graduating and obtaining a Ph.D. degree, foreign students have returned to their owncountry or worked in the USA as postdoctoral fellows.1.Research on the mechanism of pain and the development of new analgesics.2.Immune response and immunoregulation against systemic insults.3.Perioperative management team for early detection and treatment of complications associated with surgery.4.Research on systemic monitoring and anesthetic management during surgery.Findings from research in our laboratory can directly contribute to better patientoutcomes, such as pain relief and improvement ofthe patient's generalcondition. In particular, our basic research aims to develop new analgesics thatdo not have side effects. For further research, you can study at other institutions, including those overseas. You can also continue your research as a faculty member of our department.30Supporting fertility in the Present and Future Anesthesiology: Medical Science for Humanitarianism2024-2025 医学科研 究 紹 介
