His research topics are wireless communication technology.EngineeringEngineeringMaininterestofourlaboratoryisthegrowthandevaluationofsemiconductingandfunctionaloxidesinglecrystalssuchassilicon(Si),siliconcarbide(SiC)andbetagalliumoxide(β-Ga2O3),etc.Singlecrystalsareelectricallyandopticallyhomogeneousmaterials.Forexample,high-qualitySisinglecrystalsarewidelyusedforLSIdevicesandpowerdevices.WeareconductingvariouscooperativeresearcheswithcompaniesasoneoftheleadingresearchgroupsrelatedtobulkcrystalgrowthinJapan.ToshinoriTaishiRecently,smartphoneachievestheexciting,enjoyable,andconvenientlife.Thisisbecausewirelesscommunicationcansupporttheexchangingofmessagethroughtheinternetanytimeandanywhere.However,thescarcityoffrequencyspectrum,whichisaradioresource,becomesmoreseriousproblem.Forsolvingthescarcityoffrequencyspectrum,thecognitiveradioandthewirelesssensornetworksarepowerfultechnique.Thetakyulaboratoryproposestheresourceallocationwiththeradioenvironmentalawarenessandthusthesensornetworksforrecognizingtheradioenvironmentalareconsidered.Osamu TakyuWearecurrentlyworkingonthegrowthofvarioussinglecrystalscalled“GreenMaterials”thatcontributetoenvironmentalpreservation.β-Ga2O3,oneofthekeymaterialsforourlaboratory,willbeusedasasubstrateforthenextgenerationpowerdeviceswithlowconsumption.Westudythegrowthoflarge-scaleandhigh-qualitybulkcrystalsbyverticalBridgmantechnique,whichisoneofthemeltgrowthmethods.Studentsinourlaboratoryacquiremanyskillsandtechniquesrelatedtothecrystalgrowthandtheylearnhowtoapplythem.Aftergraduation,wehopethatourskillfulstudentsactivelyworkinvariouscompaniesoracademicinstitutions.Recently,thewirelessmoduleisappliedtothevariousobjects,suchaselectricalpowermeter,electricalappliances,andvendermachines.Suchcommunicationshasrecentlyattractedmuchattention,andtheyarecalledmachine-tomachine(M2M)anddevice-to-device(D2D)communications.isspreadingoverourlife,howtousefrequencyspectrumforhighefficientisimportantproblem.Thealumnusofourlaboratoryplayactiverolesasresearchersindevelopingthewirelesscommunicationsinthemanufacturingandwirelesscommunicationvendors.communicationsAswirelessindustriesSeveral typical single crystals, such as silicon and sapphire, grown in our laboratory or cooperative companies.Operators are observing the inside of the Czochralski growth furnace.
