He taught Japanese literature and calligraphy, and his character, along with his accomplishments in the martial arts and as a scholar, had a great influence on his students. The citizens of Nagano often say they feel uplifted by Asai’s lyrics as they unite the diversity of the region into one prefecture.Shinshu University Anthem: Celebrating 70 years of Tradition and ProgressThe Shinshu University anthem was composed in 2019 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the University. A competition was held, with the winning composition (lyrics and music) selected from a large number of entries.
