These are contained in various individual collections, including the Kotani Collection, one of the most important collections of materials related to mountains in Japan, along with the Kita Morio Book Library and the Ishii Tsuruzo Art Collection. These collections have been made available to the public in part through digital archives.Reopening of the Faculty of Education LibraryThe library of the Faculty of Education reopened in October 2021 after renovation work focusing on energy efficiency and barrier-free access. The study space, ICT environment and active-learning facili-ties have been improved to make the space more user-friendly for learning and research.Study SupportSenior students provide study support for basic science subjects, specialized subjects, English and report writing in some of the libraries (Central, Engineering, Agriculture). Online support has also recently been added to the learning support sys-tem.Preserving the History of the UniversityThe Shinshu University Archives were created to preserve historical materials related to the Univer-sity and the local area for future generations. In cooperation with the local community and local authorities, we are engaged in the systematic col-lection, organization and preservation of material, in facilitating research and mounting exhibitions, and in training personnel to work on these initiatives.TOPICSUniversity Library
