Ba-sic/translational/clinical researches in university hospital and general hospital are possible.Understanding the etiology and pathophysiology of a disease may lead to development of di-agnosis and novel therapies. We believe that studying each case carefully is necessary for a clinician to unravel the complexity of the disease and to move into a new paradigm. It’d be a thrill and excitement for our team that you join us to feel such dynamism in your research and clinical work every day. hematologyhamatopathologic conferenceInteraction of dendric cells and cancer cellsOne research hypothesis in our staff (cell 162, 1229, 2015)Organizing staff of Matsumoto Meeting of Japanese Society of HematologyAt Annual Meetings of Amecican Society of HematologyMedical OncologyMedical OncologyHematologyHematologySummary of ActivityWe provide medical oncology service for patients with cancer such as chemo-therapy and palliative therapy. In addition to the clinical service, we also focus on a variety of basic/translational/clinical researches leading to the better patient care in the future. Our team sincerely welcome new trainees who are interested in the field of medical oncology as well as the academic researches under the sophisticated mentorship of our experienced physicians and researchers. We look forward to developing a state-of-the-art cancer care team with your fresh minds and outstanding talents!Summary of ActivityClinical hematologists often encounter intractable diseases, whether malignant or nonmalignant, which pose urgent needs to understand the etiology and patho-genesis of the diseases and to develop novel therapeutic strategies. Among them, Aggressive NK Cell Leukemia, ANKL, is a representative example with its overall survival less than three months after diagnosis. While our team of hematologists is a believer of allogeneic immunity against NK-cell malignancies, we have proactive-ly led international studies to clarify the genetic mechanisms of the diseases with the medical institutions in Finland, Taiwan, and Korea. Most recently, we are also studying Pure Red Cell Aplasia and other non-malignant hematologic disorders, trying to clarify the etiologic relevance with T-cell derangement, and pursuing for a therapeutic breakthrough.
