・Stress simulation for scoliosis correction・New surgical treatment for early onset scoliosis・ New surgical treatment strategy using the “S-line (Shinshu-line) ” for adolescent idiopathic ・Relationship between spine sagittal plane alignment and motor function/cognitive function・Development of safer and less-invasive surgery for scoliosis・Determination of optimal fusion area by the type of curve in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis・Facilitation of a longer, healthy life expectancy in a super-aging society28Research subjectResearch subjectOutlook for researchOutlook for students after graduationtionand safe return to competition.Outlook for students after graduationThrough the diagnosis and treatment of disorders in the lower extremities, you can cultivate broad skills that can be applied to a wide range of issues. We will strengthen our research in specific fields and simultaneously aim to conduct top-level research in a global context.scoliosisOrthopedic surgeons are fully trained in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal diseases, in-cluding deformities and trauma. These specialists can perform cutting-edge research anywhere in the world. Anatomical research of ACL attachmentNavigation system for ACL surgeryIn the hybrid operating room, the functions of “ARTIS pheno“, which is a multi-axis fluoroscopy and imaging system for the navigation system, and “CurveTM“, which is a next-generation navigation system with an automatic registration function, are linked together. We have published widely on the development of a navigation system for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery, in addition to anatomical studies of the hip joint and ACL. In collaboration with Teijin Nakashima Medical, we are also developing surgical instruments for artificial joint replacement that can be used in conjunc-tion with preoperative planning software. We are developing new techniques for ACL reconstruction, exploring new surgical methods, and researching various factors that affect the postoperative function of our patients.・ Research on the anatomical morphology of the ACL・ Development of a new surgical approach to facilitate early recovery after ACL reconstruc-・ Development of a new surgical assistance system for artificial joint surgery・ Analysis of factors affecting postoperative function in artificial knee replacement surgeryOutlook for research・ Provide safe, minimally invasive, and high-performing artificial joint surgery ・ Aim to develop surgical techniques for ACL reconstruction that enable athletes an early Summary of ActivityThe Shinshu University Spine Group was one of the first university hospital re-search teams to introduce the navigation system to spinal surgery in 1996, a hy-brid operating room with a navigation system in a south wards in 2018. We have also performed basic research on scoliosis and endoscopic spinal surgery utiliz-ing 3D printers, in collaboration with professor Michihiko Koseki of the faculty of textile science and technology at our university. New and less-invasive surgical procedures for scoliosis, and the S-line (Shinshu-line), a new indicator for fusion area, have also been studied. In addition, joint clinical research on lumbar inter-vertebral fusion with Yamanashi University and Hamamatsu University School of Medicine is ongoing, as is joint research on musculoskeletal epidemiology with our rehabilitation department.Conducting a wide range of research on various lower limb disordersPresenting new findings and treatment in spinal disease and deformity to the worldOrthopaedic SurgeryLower Extremities GroupLower Extremities Group(Chief : Assoc.
