Electrical& Computer Electrical& Computer Electrical& Computer Electrical& Computer Evolutionarycomputationusescomputationalmodelsofnaturalevolutiontosolvecomplexproblemsinscienceandengineering.Thecreationofsustainablesystemstomeetourneedswithoutcompromisingfuturegenerationsisasocialchallenge.Itdemandsthedevelopmentofnewtechnologiesandtheredesignofourinfrastructure,balancingenvironmental,economic,andsocietalneeds.Sustainabilityproblemsareintrinsicallycomplex,dynamic,large-scale,spanseveraldisciplines,andrequiremultidisciplinaryeffortsandmethodstosolvethem.Weusethepowerofevolutionarycomputationfordesigninnovationandoptimizationofsolutionstocomplexsustainabilityproblems.Inthislab,researchisbeingdoneonawidevarietyofinformationsystems.Withapolicyofcreating“useful”and“easytouse”technology,thegoalistoenrichhumanlifebymakingmundanetaskseasierandmorefun.Mostsystemsaredesignedfromthedeveloper’spointofview,whichtendstomakethemhardtouse.Here,systemdevelopmentisundertakenfromtheuser’spointofview.Examplesystemsarecomputerlearningsystemsandinformationmanagementsystems.Asforembeddedsystems,sensornetworks,liketheoneshownontheright,isamajorresearcharea.Smartandtransportationsystems,andintelligentwatergridsarethreekeysystemstowhichevolutionarycomputationcanbeusedtooptimizetheirdesignandimprovetheirsustainabilitytomeetthefuture.Additionally,designinnovationinkeyindustries,suchasautomobileandspaceexploration,areareasinwhichevolutionarycomputationwillplayanimportantrole.IntheLaboratorywelearnaboutreal-worldproblem-solvingandoptimizationbycomputationalmeans.Thisrequiresaclearunderstandingofitsmodeling,andthecreationofaprogramtosolveit.Thereisalsoopportunitiestocollaborateinjointresearchwithindustry.Theseactivitiescomplementstheeducationreceivedintheundergraduatecurseandbroadenstheskillsofengineers.powergrids,intelligentmobilitytheneedsofresearchisalsobeingdoneonInthislab,communicationseveraldigitalcommunicatewitheachother,moredevicesintelligentoperationscanbeperformed.Inthefuture,deviceswillworktogetherwiththeir“friends”.Studentsarecurrentlyworkingonwaystodothis.Graduatesfindemploymentinsuchareasasthesoftware,electronicsandautomotiveindustries.Prof.Asanoteachesstudentsnotonlyaboutresearch,butalsoaboutlifeandsociety,sothattheycanalsoenrichtheirlives.theproblem,systems.IfEvolutionarycomputationisusedtofindoptimalsolutionstomulti-objective,largescale,complexoptimizationproblems.Evolutionarycomputationsimulatesevolutionanditisappliedtosolveavarietyofdesigninnovationandsustainabilityproblems.sensorterminalwirelesstransmissiontransponderserverAguirre HernanProfessorEcuadorian Engineer.
