ResearchInitiativeFor Supra-Materials3研究所、研究拠点Institutes先鋭材料研究所[RISM]Research Initiative for Supra-Materials「モノづくり日本のパラダイムシフト」の実現当研究所（呼称：RISM）では、信大が強みをもつ先鋭材料研究を進化&深化させる統合型インダストリアルマテリアルサイエンス拠点となり、ニッチフロンティアで世界に伍する研究を展開する。また、AIや計算科学も駆使し、マテリアルデザインからマルチスケールモデリング、最終的にはシステム論までを俯瞰した「モノづくり日本のパラダイムシフト」の実現に資する研究を創出します。Paradigmshifttowardsthenextgenerationof"ManufacturingJapan“ShinshuUniversitywillfurtherstrengthenitsintegratedindustrialmaterialssciencehubthatpropelssupra-materialsresearchandcontinuestudiesinthenichefrontier.WewillutilizeAIandcomputationalsciencetocreateresearchthatcontributetotherealizationofaparadigmshifttowardsthenextgeneration"ManufacturingJapan"coveringmaterialsdesigntomulti-scalemodelingandultimately,systemtheory.バイオメディカル研究所［IBS］Institute for Biomedical Sciences独創的な境界領域の研究で世界の生命科学に挑戦生命科学という大きな未知の世界に独創的な方法で挑み、時を経るほどその輝きを増す価値を創造します。生命科学における中心的課題に取り組み、世紀を超えて研究・開発の基盤となる原理を見出します。この広く影響を及ぼす価値の創出・原理の発見により、世界との人材交流のコアとなり、グローバルな生命科学ネットワークを構築・発展させます。ライフイノベーション・グリーンイノベーションをもたらす基盤技術と蓄積データを社会に還元することにより、高齢者の社会負荷要因から社会貢献要因への転換、圧倒的な付加価値を生む生物資源革命等を実現するための、要素技術からビジョンまでを社会に提供します。PioneeringtheworldoflifesciencesthroughoriginalinterdisciplinaryresearchOurdepartmentsarechallengingthegreatscientificmysteriesoftheworldincreativeandinnovativeways.Throughaninterdisciplinaryapproach,weareexploringcoresubjectsinlifesciencestodiscoverthefundamentalprinciplesthatunderliediseaseandhealth.Bygeneratingnoveladvancesofglobalimpact,weaimtobecomeacenterofscientificcollaborationandbuildaworldwidenetworkinlifescienceresearch.Sharingbasictechnologiesandaccumulateddataonlifeandenvironmentalinnovationwillcreatewaysforsocietytoshiftsocialburdenstowardssocialcontributionstotheelderlyandrealizesignificantbiologicalresourcegains.社会基盤研究所［RCSS］Research Center for Social Systems信州大学では、2014年に、特色ある研究分野を先鋭化し、新たな融合研究領域を創造するために先鋭領域融合研究群が設置されました。社会基盤研究所は、2019年4月に、次の研究群研究所を目指す「次代クラスター研究センター」である社会基盤研究センターと食農イノベーション研究センターから生まれた新しい研究所です。社会基盤研究所は、５部門からなり、経法学部を中心に、医学、数学、統計学、感性工学、言語学、心理学、農学、建築学などの研究者が31名が集結しています。地域の課題は、一つの分野だけで解決できることはほとんどありません。社会基盤研究所では、これらの多様な分野の研究者が力を合わせて、地域課題の解決に向けて様々な取り組みをしています。その成果の一部は、信州大学の教育にも活かされています。In2014,ShinshuUniversityestablishedtheInterdisciplinaryClusterforCuttingEdgeResearchtofine-tunedistinctiveresearchfieldsandcreatenewfusionresearchareas.TheResearchCenterforSocialSystemsisanewinstitutecreatedinApril2019fromtheSocialInfrastructureResearchCenterandtheFoodandAgricultureInnovationResearchCenter,whichare“Next-GenerationClusterResearchCenters”.TheResearchCenterforSocialSystemsconsistsofmembersfromfivedepartmentswiththeFacultyofEconomicsandLawatthecore.31researchersfromthefieldsofmedicine,mathematics,statistics,Kanseiengineering,linguistics,psychology,agriculture,andarchitectureareincluded.Localissuesarerarelysolvedthroughjustonesubjectarea.AttheResearchCenterforSocialSystems,researchersfromthesediversedisciplinesworktogethertosolveregionalissues.SomeofthefruitsoftheirlaborhavebeenutilizedinclassroomsatShinshuUniversity.ResearchCenterfor Social Systems
