Recently,theresearchworksarestronglyintendedtoobtaininsuperficialeconomicbenefits.Forexample,thedevelopmentofadietmethodthatcanloseweightforseveralkilogramsinashortperiod,itcanattractlargeattention,inspiteoflackofthescientificevidence.Ontheotherhand,inourlaboratory,wehaveapolicytocarryouttheinternationalresearchesunknowntheusefulnessatpresentbutveryinterestinghumanbodyfunctions,withprovingscientificevidences.Especially,wearetacklingontheelucidationoftheneuralcontrolfunctionofhumanbodymovements.ProfessorYasuhideYoshitakeGraduatedfromFacultyofEngineering,OsakaCityUniversity,andthenGraduateSchoolofHumanandEnvironmentalStudies,KyotoUniversity.AfterworkingasapostdoctoralfellowofJapanSocietyforthePromotionofScienceandsoon,hestartedthepresentacademicpositionatShinshuUniversityinSeptember2018.Hisresearchinterestsarefocusedonmysteriousphenomenaandcontrolfunctionsinthewidehumanactivitiesfromdailylifetosportiflife.Present research on muscle fiber performancetop left: rule factor of running performancetop right: state of the cerebrum excitementbottom left: force control functionbottom center: Involuntary movement to develop during sports movement bottom right: behavior of muscles and tendonsResearch subjects(1) Physiologic mechanism to show powereffectively (quickly,  largely, little muscle fatigue)(2) Physiologic mechanism to regulate power inprecision(3) Effective exercise learning methodElucidation of the above subjects is attempted in a gross mainly on measuring myogenic potential in the human muscle and muscle fiber levels, and, recently, cerebral function, and using the image diagnostic method. Researcherscanalsocompeteagainsttheworld,justassportsathleteslongingforsuccessoverseas.Ifyourpaperiswritteninadomesticlanguage,e.g.,JapaneseorFrench,onlyJapaneseorFrenchcanreadit.Ifyouwriteitinaninternationallanguage,English,youwillbeabletocommunicatewithresearchersaroundtheworld.Inthisway,youwillbeabletofeeltheworldthroughyourresearchonhumanbodymovements.Afterhavingstudiedthewayofresearchwiththeworldstandard,itdependsonyourself.Intherealmofdesign,bothformalknowledge,forexamplelogicalknowledgeandmethods,andinformalknowledge,forexamplejudgmentandinspirationthatarehardtocommunicate,mustbeleveragedindevelopmentandmanagement.Iamdeepeningunderstandingofthisso‐called“theory×sensibility”approachthroughmydevelopmentresearch.Mycareerindesigndevelopmentbeganwiththeworld'sfirstMini‐Discplayerandhasincludedproductsusedindailylifeaswellasmedicalequipment.Itculminatesinadvanceddesign.Iseedesignasanewpracticalscience,andIbelieveitwillbetransformedintoanopportunityforpresentingcountlesspossibilitiesforthefuturethroughexperimentationandanopportunityfordevelopingappealasitspotentialisrealized.Mygoalisformystudentstoachievealevelofcapabilitythatextendsbeyondthedefinitionsofplanners,engineers,anddesignerssothattheycandotheirownplanningandthenproduceandcarryoutprojectsontheirown.ProfessorIsaoWadaProfessorWadatookhiscurrentpositioninOctober2012afterworkingatthePioneerDesignOffice,theSonyDesignCenter,andasheadofWadaDesign.Hisprincipalareasofresearchanddevelopmentincludeproductdesignandproductplanning.The Yamaha PJP‐25UR (Yamaha Corporation) makes it possible for people in remote locations to engage in dialog and participate in meetings by commercializing a completely new approach to“ controlling invisible things in a visible way.”My Tomorrow Project seeks to propose tools, environment, and systems for use by the children of the future.Exploring design as a new practical science and pioneering the future with the “theory ×sensibility” approach16Department of Advanced Textile and KanseiEngineeringKanseiEngineeringDepartment of Advanced Textile and KanseiEngineeringKanseiEngineeringOutlook for researchOutlook for students after graduationOutlook for researchOutlook for students after graduation
