Jun KawabeOverthelastfiftyyearstherehavebeenmanyattemptsinextendingthetheoryofclassicalprobabilityandstatisticalmodelstothegeneralizedonewhichcancopewithproblemsofinferenceanddecisionmakingwhenthemodel-relatedinformationisscare,vague,ambiguous,orincomplete.Suchattemptsincludethestudyofnonadditivemeasuresandnonlinearintegrals,impreciseprobabilities,vectormeasures,andtheirapplicationsininformationsciences,economics,engineering,andsocialsciences.Nonadditivemeasureandnonlinearintegraltheoryrefinethemathematicaltheoryofmeasureandintegrationandtheyarecloselyrelatedtoprobabilitytheoryandstatistics.Theyhavebeenusedinexpectedutilitytheory,gametheory,andsomeeconomictopicsunderKnightianuncertainty.Vectormeasuresarealsousefulwhenstudyingmathematicalmodelsininfinitedimensionalsystems.ProfessorDoctor of Science (Tokyo Institute of Technology, 1981)Specialty area:nonadditivemeasures, nonlinear integrals, and vector measures.Some of our recent papers concerning nonadditivemeasure theory.
