The Faculty of Textile Science and Technology has established a hub for education and research in textile and fiber engineering. We will further develop that foundation by collaborating with domestic and overseas textile universities, research institutes, and industry as we strive to generate internationally competitive research results and train talented human resources capable of contributing on the global stage and creating next-generation industries.わが国唯一の繊維学部が築いてきた繊維・ファイバー工学の教育と研究の拠点を国内外の繊維系大学・研究機関及び産業界との連携によりさらに発展させ、国際競争力のある多様な研究成果を産み出すとともに次世代産業を創出する有為なグローバル人材を育成する。•繊維の伝統技術と先端科学技術を融合させた「ファイバー工学」を多様な学際分野に展開し、その成果を幅広い産業分野における新しいものづくりと価値の創出に結びつける。•人材育成の観点から、COE及びリーディング大学院プログラムで培ってきた大学院教育プログラムのさらなる充実と学内への波及を図るとともに、グローバル感覚を身につけ次世代産業を創生する高度な技術者及び研究者を育成する。ファイバーイノベーション・インキュベーター（Fii）施設と連動して、関連技術や人材に関する情報を集積しオープンに活用する。•連携の観点から、「組織（学部）」対「組織（企業）」の包括的な契約に基づく共同研究を実施し、教員、技術職員、大学院生が参画し、相互の人材育成にも資するものとする。国内の繊維系部門を有する大学及び公設試験場等との連携によって、繊維系教育資源の有効活用を図り繊維系技術者の育成、再教育を図る。また、海外繊維系大学との交流協定を基にして、学生の交換留学、教員の相互派遣、国際共同研究を推進し、学部のグローバル化とレピュテーションの向上を目指す。国際連携で得られた成果を地域の産業にもたらし、新たな枠組みの地域連携を展開する。•技術職員との協働によって、繊維学部の特徴ある技術（紡糸、繊維評価、蚕糸など）と繊維生物資源を継承するとともに研究教育活動の中に位置づけ、学外の研究機関や企業との共同研究に展開する。•We will develop the domain of fiber engineering by combining traditional textile technology and advanced science and technology in various interdisciplinary fields and leverage them to facilitate new manufacturing and value creation in a broad range of industries.•From the perspective of human resource development, we will further enhance the graduate education program developed by the COE and Leading Graduate Program and extend its benefits to the larger University community. At the same time, we will train advanced engineers and researchers while endowing them with a global perspective that will equip them to create next-generation industries. We will also work with the Fiber Innovation Incubator (Fii) to accumulate and make available information on related technologies and human resources.• In addition to carrying out collaborative research based on comprehensive agreements between the faculty and private-sector companies, we will contribute to the training and development of participating researchers, technical staff, and graduate students. By collaborating with Japanese universities with textile programs, public institutions, and other stakeholders, we will make effective use of textile education resources in order to foster the development of and retraining of textile engineers. In addition, based on exchange agreements with overseas universities, we will promote student exchanges, mutual dispatch of researchers, and international joint research while working to improve the globalization and reputation of the faculty. We will bring the results obtained from international collaboration to regional industries and develop regional collaboration in a new framework.•By collaborating with technical staff, we will ensure that the distinctive technologies of the Faculty of Textile Science and Technology (spinning, fiber/textile evaluation, sericulture, etc.) are carried on, along with associated bio-fiber resources.
