His research interests are pattern recognition and human computer interaction.Handwritten flowchart recognition system and handwritten music score recognition system with a pen device.Information Processing for Pen and Touch InterfacesSimilar image search system by using a touch interface on a smartphone.Aboutthehalfofthealumniandalumnaegoontograduateschools,andtheotherhalfworkinindustriesassoftwaredevelopers,systemengineers,etc,usingtheirexperiencesinmylaboratory.After GraduationIn the FutureElectrical& Computer EngineeringElectrical& Computer EngineeringIn the FutureAfter GraduationMinami MiyakawaConcept images of natural evolution and one of EAsExamples of research subjectEvolutionaryAlgorithmsforSolvingMulti-ObjectiveOptimizationProblemsEvolutionaryAlgorithms(EAs)imitatenaturalevolution.Takingacardesignproblemmaximizingmaxspeedasanexample,carsconstructapopulationandinferioronesareeliminated,thedesignofacaristreatedasDNA,andanewcarisgeneratedfromtwofastcarsinthepopulationbyapplyingcrossoverandmutation(seethefigureontherightside).Asthisprocessisrepeated,theaveragemaxspeedofthecarsinthepopulationisfaster.It’sinteresting,isn’tit?However,EAsstillhasroomforimprovement.Let’sresearchEAstogether.Optimization problems arise everywhere. Since EAs can solve many kinds of optimization problems,by improving the applicability and usability, I believe it will become popular in the near future. In fact, it has already been applied to real-world problems, for example, design of N700 series Shinkansenand MitubishiRegional Jet, etc.You will acquire skills such as problem-solving, logical thinking, programming, etc. The skills of problem-solving and logical thinking are useful for any work. AssistantprofessorShe received Ph.D. degrees from The University of Electro-Communications in 2016. She was a JSPS research fellow before joining Shinshu university in 2019. Her research interests include constraint-handling in evolutionary multi-objective optimization and its applications.Evolutionary Algorithms-Data are Evolved like Living Things -Evolutionary algorithms(GA,ES,PSO,DE)etc.Many-objective optimizationSolutionsanalysisDynamic environmentConstrained optimizationApplicationand many moreVisualization36
