―19―Psychiatric and MentalHealth NursingFor users’ safety and security in mental health settingsMy primary goal is to create a safe and secure environment in psychiatric inpatient settings for not only staff but also service users. We developed the CVPPP (Comprehensive Violence Prevention and Protection Programme)in 2005 and study to create a theory on aggression and skills to intervene for users aggressiveness. The theory includes risk assessment, de-escalation skills, physical intervention, and review. Person-centered care is fundamental in all processes.The basic philosophy of care for aggression is the same as that of psychiatric nursing. Such skills allow staff to be more confident and create safer and more secure environments. Furthermore, these skills improve the relationships between users and staffs.Employment for students who wish to work in psychiatric settings immediately after graduation. Apart from support, health is necessary for a patient to live the life that he or she desires, and for living a more secure life.I am working on solving problems on site with supporters of visiting nurses etc. working in the area. In particular, I aim to enable better medical support for the disabled and for family members who are highly dependent on long-term care that forces them to live a long-term care life.Regional comprehensive care is promoted by the country, and the locations of nursing staff activities are expanding.
