―16―Oxytocin is a hormone secreted from the body part called the posterior pituitary gland. In previous studies it has been said that the gland has a function of inducing labor and promote breast milk secretion. In recent years, it has become obvious that it is involved in interpersonal relationships, and it has become known that it acts to relax and relieve pain. On the other hand, it has gradually been learned that aggression increases by being excessively secreted. If I know how oxytocin acts on humans, I think that it can be used for nursing and midwifery care. Currently, I am cooperating with a teacher from the Department of Inspection and Technology Science and researching to measure this concentration from saliva and blood, while also studying the attachment between and mental stability of mother and child.When practicing nursing care and midwifery care, it is very important to know the structure of the human body. Focusing on oxytocin, which is regarded as important in the perinatal period, by conducting research as a midwife, care for mothers and babies can be improved, which can lead to healthy childcare and prevention of abuse, which has been increasing in recent years.Nurses, public health nurses, midwives maternal care and nursing for families are important to people in many occupations.
