―15―For childcare to be connectedResearch on methods to support “becoming a father / mother”Recently, women have much uneasiness and confusion about childcare. We have studied how to connect a person to people: a connection with the community, a connection from before pregnancy, a connection from pregnancy to childbirth, a connection from childbirth to childhood until the child becomes larger, and to prepare a child-rearing environment not isolated. Supporting notion that “men become fathers, women become mothers”, we are searching for care that deepens parent and child bonds and builds evidence that leads to abuse prevention.“Our child-rearing course” is held to teach childcare rearing from pregnancy until after childbirth. In the course you will learn about preparation for becoming a parent and the growth of children. It is a place where fathers and mothers gather while raising children.Nurses and midwives are professionals involved with people. Therefore, communication skills are important and many personal experiences are useful, too.Outlook for researchOutlook for students after graduationGraduated from Shinshu University Graduate School of Medicine (Master of Nursing).Worked as a hospital midwife.Working at Shinshu UniversitySchool of Medicine since 2006.Senior Assistant Professor Akiko HagaA parent has children in peace, and support for children to grow up into healthIn recent years, we are facing the problems of a declining birthrate and a tendency to marry later. As a result, the overdue birth, the delay in nuclear families, and the environment surrounding the mother, the child and the family greatly change into the problems of isolation in childcare. I study the issues surrounding childcare by the mother and family, and necessary support. I carry out studies on the change of environment and breathing, and the circulation function that helps neonates and infants to grow. Also, as a member of a study team, I study the childcare support continually given to mothers and fathers from the gestation to the childcare period. My specialties are midwifery and maternal nursing.Graduated as a midwife from Shinshu University. Worked as a midwife in a hospital. Appointed as Senior Assistant Professor from 2014. MSN from Shinshu University.Senior Assistant ProfessorChitaru TokutakeIt is necessary for midwifery and maternal nursing as well as the life cycle of women and children to include the family as much as possible. I want the future of this research to lead to a society where children are born in peace and for whom a bright future awaits. Furthermore, I want to contribute to reducing the declining birthrate in Japan.I want students to learn the basics and study methods at university in order to support the development of medical care and nursing.Outlook for researchOutlook for students after graduationMaternity Nursing and MidwiferyMaternity Nursing and MidwiferyNursingFamily and Child Nursing and MidwiferyNursingFamily and Child Nursing and MidwiferyWe visit the homes of infants to measure their breathing and check their circulation functions, such as heartbeat rate or breathing rate.【Child-rearing course—for 2-year-old—】Time to play with parents(clay play)【Research on early skin-to-skin contact for term infants】Childcare lectures on the gestation period: we teach parents how to bathe a baby.Childcare class on 1-year-old: parents and children enjoying hand and footprints together.【Papa, Mama and Baby Course ~ Pregnancy ~】Gain knowledge in a lecture format and learn skills in exercises.
