Laboratory ofFood ChemistryTakakazuMITANIAssistantProfessorResearchkeywords:Obesity-associateddiseases,Adipogenesis,Adipokines,AdipocytedifferentiationNutritionalfactors,Foodfunctions,TheresearchinterestsoftheLaboratoryofFoodSciencefocusonthediscoveryanddevelopmentofNutraceuticalsandnovelactivecompoundsthatcanbeusedfordrugsorfunctionalfoods.Ourlaboratoryaspirestofostertheharmoniousdevelopmentofhumannatureandscience,producingworldclassresearchoutputs,andcultivatingnewscientistswithcreativityandinternationalitywhowillcontributetosocietythroughresearchandeducation.Obesity is one of the risk factors for type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases, but also dementia. Thus, we focus on obesity to prevent the above-mentioned diseases. 3T3-L1 cells are model of adipocytes.
