Shinshu University established the Shinshu Medical Industry Association (SMIA) with a broad membership from industry, academia, and government as a support system for medical-industrial collaboration, and has organized over 100 member companies/government, educational, and financial institutions for the purpose of promoting the medical device industry in Nagano Prefecture. Shinshu University, SMIA, and the Nagano Industrial Promotion Organization work together with member companies to support their participation in domestic and international exhibitions.
