Mitsubishi Rayon will collaborate with Lamborghini owned by the Volkswagen Group, to develop a new material and a mass production technique in the field of CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) for automotive use. Mitsubishi Rayon will first put emphasis on their research of European car manufacturers who rapidly have been addressing use of CFRP. Mitsubishi Rayon plans to, within a year, develop a new technique having both of its performance such as lightweight and strength, and its high volume productivity. Mitsubishi Rayon also plans to promote use of CFRP to ordinary cars of the Volkswagen Group in the future.
