Toray provides carbon fiber to spacecraft November, 2016

Toray has reached a basic agreement with a US private rocket firm SpaceX, on a long-term supply of carbon fiber using for a body of a rocket and a spacecraft. The agreement is expected to be finalized by this autumn. Rise of new markets related to the space development including space travel, transportation and resource exploitation is expected to serve as a powerful spur to the material industry where Japan has a competitive advantage.
