Asahi Kasei aims to expand the filter cartridge business and enforces to develop the products made of nonwoven fabrics. Asahi Kasei commercialized a series of filter cartridges “Youtech Nano KPG Type” for microgels, composed of ultrafine (0.4 ?m ?) polypropylene fiber. In contrast with conventional membrane type filters, this filter cartridge can cope with high viscous liquid to remove foreign objects with less clogging. The demand for high-performance filter is increasing as downsizing the electronic parts mounted, for example, onto automobiles. Asahi Kasei tackles to extend its share in the growing filter business by strengthening its own cartridge and device business.
