Mitsubishi Rayon enforces to develop carbon fiber for pressure vessels. Mitsubishi Rayon is actively working on the project to promote compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks to be loaded on trucks in South East Asia, and aims to expand to a full-scale business by 2018. Mitsubishi Rayon is planning to build its own plant for tank manufacturing in collaboration with the US and European tank manufacturers. Mitsubishi Rayon expects a rapid increase of the demand for high-pressure hydrogen tanks mounted in fuel cell vehicles (FCV).
