Seiren is to strengthen the production facility for liquid crystalline spinning of polyester (polyarylate) fiber “Zxion” to enter into its full-scale business. Polyarylate is expanding its market, adapted for the tension member of electric wire and CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) products for sports and leisure. Further polyarylate is expected to be employed to the high-frequency wave parts by applying its characteristics of wire harness and low dielectric constant. Although the production capacity of “Zxion” is a few tons per year at the moment, Seiren is planning to increase the production capacity to 100 tons per year by strengthening the spinning facility in 2016.
