Study of the Relationship Between Softness, Safety and Comfort in School Playgrounds

The purposes of this study are to establish the estimating method and to present the suitable value of the softness of school playgrounds with respect to safety and comfort in playing. The softness of several kinds of playgrounds were measured by means of the apparatus for measuring the resiliency of gymnasium floors.
And several playgrounds were made for samples of sensory test of softness with respect to the safety and comfort.
Then the sensory tests were taken place and the scales of sensation, safety and comfortableness were scaled.
From the relationship of three scales and the physical value which was measured by means of apparatus, the estimating method and the suitable physical value of softness of school playgrounds were presented.
