This research seeks to model drop-weight test methods by actually producing a small-scale drop-weight tester and using a high-speed camera to verify the static and dynamic behavior of the net during drop-weight testing. We are also working to improve the precision of the prototype tester by studying the correlation with evaluation results from testing organizations. By making it possible to perform drop-weight testing and evaluation with small samples, the evaluation technology we are developing will help lower product development costs and speed the product planning process.
