Research into technology for evaluating the environmental degradation characteristics of polymer materials

We are working to obtain reference data to use as guidelines in the evaluation of degradation characteristics by carrying out degradation testing of general-purpose polymer materials (polyethylene, polyester, etc.) using such means as xenon and sunshine weather meters. We are studying degradation evaluation techniques by conducting chemical analyses with methods such as FT-IR and DSC. Based on the results of these tests, we hope to discover the correlation between degradation evaluation and strength evaluation.
