Development of cotton modification technology using chemical processing
【Supercategory:3. Textile Category:3.3 Functional processing Subcategory:3.3.1 Processing technology】
We are working to develop technology for transferring long-lasting luster to cotton fabric. We suppress hydrogen bonds by esterifying part of a cellulose hydroxyl group to give the cotton thermal plasticity. Then we use a calendar roller (hot roller) or heat press to give the fabric long-lasting luster. We are working to optimize the esterification and heat press parameters by evaluating such aspects of the fabric’s performance as its luster retention rate.
