Development of Hybrid Woven Composites with Controlled Vibrational Properties

【Supercategory:4. Techtextiles Subcategory:4.1 For general industrial use

Carbon fiber(CF) and aramid fiber(AF) are attracting attention as ingredients of a composite material for their superior mechanical modulus and strength, but these characteristics prevent them from being woven. In this study, one of existing looms which had been used for making narrow textiles for long time in the western region of Shizuoka prefecture was improved, and the loom made it possible for those fibers to be woven. CF/AF-hybridized composite material which were made of woven fibers and resin matrix were produced and some vibration properties of them were investigated.
