At the Industrial Research Institute of Ishikawa, examples of textile defects presented by a textile company were analyzed in view of reducing production loss and preventing recurrence of defects. The collection of textile defects, which had been previously published as a booklet, was made into an electronic database and opened to the public on our website via the Internet. Furthermore, a data input system was established to gather our personnel's know-how. The database and the input system will be used to prevent the recurrence of textile defects, and to improve textile quality.
