Development of halogen-free flame-retardant fiber
【Supercategory:2. Fiber manufacturing Category:2.1 Special fiber Subcategory:2.1.5 Others】
We developed flame-retardant polyester fiber using an environmentally friendly halogen-free fire retardant and polyester resin. We melt-mixed the powder flame retardant with the polyester and fed the resulting mixture into a melt spinning process. As a result, we obtained a multi-filament fiber that can withstand washing and that delivers enough single-yarn strength (31 mN/dtex) to be stretched to up to 5 times its original length.
