  Cellulose and related polysaccharides are environmentally benign substances and possess a high potential to be newly developed for advanced applications in themselves or inorganic ingredients. My current research is concerned with utilization of the natural polymers as new functional agents (e.g., nano-crystallite filler; chiral mesogen) or high-performance materials (e.g., melt-spun fiber; optical films; laminates).
