Effect of the block length on the physical properties of the multi-stereoblock poly(lactic acid) melt-spu fibers

【Supercategory:2. Fiber manufacturing Category:2.1 Special fiber Subcategory:2.1.2 Biofiber

Multi-stereoblock poly(lactic acid)s with various block lengths were synthesized and melt-spun into fibers. The melting point of the fibers decreased with the decreasing block length. The fibers tended to have a structure, which is considered as smectic crystal, after drawing at an optimum condition. This structure readily transformed to the stereocomplex after annealing.
