Development of biovinyl monomers by microbial fermentation

Vinyl monomers can be converted into polymers via radical polymerization. It is known that some microbials produce biovinyl monomers. The aims of this study are (1) to isolate biovinyl monomers-producing microbials, (2) to produce biovinyl monomers from biomass via microbial fermentation, and (3) to synthesize functional polyvinyls from biovinyl monomers as the starting materials.
