Toray moves ahead on the safety management of workers by applying its functional fiber “hitoe” to work clothing. September, 2015

Toray started a joint experiment on the safety management system by utilizing IoT with Japan Airlines (JAL) and NTT Communications.
Toray facilitates the airport environment safe for the outdoor workers by utilizing the functional fiber “hotoe” from Toray and the cloud-based safety management system of NTT. Toray intends to introduce this system to JAL at first and then to a wider range of industrial segments and job types, and commercialize the system within 2017. The workers’ safety management service will be operated jointly by Toray and NTT, where the service is composed of a “hitoe” wear, a transmitter and the safety management system.
