Asahi Kasei strengthens the production capacity of “Bemliese”, a non-woven with excellent water absorbency and water retain by constructing a new line in its Nobeoka Plant.
This expansion of the production capacity is to cope with an increasing demand for skin care goods including facial masks mainly in Asian countries. The production capacity will be increased about just over 40 % to 5,500 t by March in 2017.
“Bemliese” is a non-woven made of cupra rayon “Bemberg”. Asahi Kasei is a sole manufacture of cupra rayon now in the world. “Bemlieae” could absorb water over 10 times of its own weight, and is applied in the wide range of medical (including skin care) and industrial fields.
