Toyobo developed a new material “CCOMI” for smart wears, which measures vital signs including pulse and other physiological information.
The material is a thin film composed of conductive materials and resin. The film is thin (the thickness 0.3 mm) and stretchable, so that it is easy any wiring and will inspire a new design for apparels. Toyobo is planning to market smart wears for sports in 2017.
