Teijin expands the production of carbon fiber and its composite materials for aircrafts.
Teijin has developed a new type carbon fiber, which possesses higher strength as well as higher modulus. Teijin expects this new-type carbon fiber to be employed together with high-seed stiffening prepreg and high-temperature resistant prepreg for next generation aircrafts developed after 2025. As the carbon fiber demand is rapidly expanding for single-aisle aircrafts as LCC increases, Teijin expects a large expansion of the carbon fiber business for existing machines.
