UNITIKA explores a European market for polylactic acid resin “TERRAMAC”. UNITIKA starts supplying the sample of “TERRAMAC” for automotive and electronic parts through its D?sseldorf Center in Germany. UNITIKA intends to supply in full scale within this year when approved by the European REACH regulation. By exploring a green-minded European market, UNITIKA aims to double the sales of TERRAMAC to the scale of 2,000 tons/year. TERRAMAC is a plastic material of polylactic acid made from corns, and has an improved heat resistance and impact resistance by specially developed additives and stabilizers. UNITIKA supplies a sample of TERRAMAC for automotive parts, food containers and nonwovens in Europe.
