【Supercategory:6. Products Subcategory:6.1 New products of 2013

TEIJIN pursues the development of nanofiber for industrial application. The nanofiber is applied to the livingwares such as golf gloves and socks, but TEIJIN intends to expands its industrial application including car filters and medical uses. TEIJIN is now developing high-performance air filter for car engine in collaboration with a car manufacturer. The filter is made of conventional polyester fiber blended with nanofiber, and is able to remove even the finest dust. The car filter is planned to be commercialized by 2016. The filter can be applied further for air conditioners, air cleaners and masks in view.
The development in the medical area is focused on tapes and scaffold for cell-cultivation. Since fiber is thin, the contact area to skin or cell becomes larger and promotes quick penetration of drugs.
