TORAY developed a new fabric “AIRLISSIMO” for lady’s apparel, which has light wear comfort and voluminous appearance. TORAY plans to sell 100,000 m in the first year to the apparel makers for coats and jackets in the next autumn/winter season.
“AIRLISSIMO” is composed of newly designed 4 to 5 times thicker nylon yarns than conventional yarns. The core of the yarn is hollow like a straw, and contains air to puff. A special processing affords space between fibers, and thus “AIRLISSIMO” enables to afford voluminous appearance with light wear comfort.
