TOYOBO developed stretchable/kickbackable polyester “TECHNISTA48” by post-processing. Here the stretch ability is afforded by bonding urethane components to the amorphous region at the surface of PET fiber. The performance is nearly equal to that of the spandex fiber, and the average elongation ratio is 48 % in both weft and warp directions. “TECHNISTA48” is also processed to afford washing-durable water-absorbent function. TOYOBO offers“TECHNISTA48” as a stretching material for leggings etc.
