TEIJIN claims the bio-based polyester fiber is employed for a car interior of NISSAN “LEAF”. February,2013

TEIJIN announced that NISSAN MOTOR has adapted bio-based polyester fiber “PLANTPET” for the interior of its 100 % electric car “LEAF”.
This is a first case that PLANTPET is employed for mass-produced cars. Taking this opportunity, TEIJIN sets a goal to expand the volume of the sales of PLANTPET over 50 % in total polyester fiber for car seats and car interior in 2015.
