Teijin Frontier has introduced a bulky lightweight spun yarn “Octa sf” using their unique spinning technology. It includes ultrafine staple fibers, each of which has a hollow in the core, and eight fin-shaped protrusions arranged on the outer periphery. Protrusions of one staple fiber form gaps with other protrusions of other staple fibers in contact. It is a remarkable achievement that, the company has developed the staple fiber designed and made in the shape by their unique spinning and drawing technology. The Octa sf yarn provides users with soft, comfortable touch feeling, and keeps warm and dry since users’ sweat is evaporated efficiently after being absorbed and spreading over the surface.
