UNITIKA increases the production of TERRAMAC (polylactic acid fiber) July,2012

UNITIKA enforces the TERRAMAC business. The production capacity of TERRAMAC filament has been increased by 50 % (1.5 fold with respect to the present production). The decision of the increased production was made on the basis of the increasing demand for the tea bags of polylactic acid filament in Europe. The polylactic acid filament consists of 10 % of the total production (a little less than 2,000 t/year) of TERRAMAC at UNITIKA.
