TORAY deals with the increasing demand for the lightweight solution of automobile and airplane by the 50 % increased production of carbon fiber April,2012

　TORAY, aiming the 50 % increased world production of carbon fiber, invests 45 billion yen to renew the facilities at the plants in Japan, the US, Korea and France by 2015. TORAY expects a large expansion of the carbon fiber market due to the rapid replacement of metal parts with carbon-fiber-reinforced composites for weight saving of automobile and airplane. TORAY plans to consolidate the global supply chain of carbon fiber and exploit the core markets in the US, Europe and Asia.
