KURARAY developed selective metal-ion absorbent nonwoven fabric April,2012

【Supercategory:6. Products Subcategory:6.1 New products of 2013

KURARAY in collaboration with FUKUI UNIVERSIY developed nonwoven fabric, which absorb metal-ion selectively. By high-order fiber processing with the electron-beam graft polymerization, the nonwoven fabric absorbs and recovers rare metal ion selectively from the solution. Both KURARAY and FUKUI UNIVERSITY start the full swing collaboration since July last year, and applied a joint patent. It is planned to set up the industry-university joint project to lay the groundwork for the metal-ion recovery venture, and aim to establish an urgently-needed technology for rare metal recovery.
