UNITIKA developed biomass-based high-heat-resistant polyamide resin “Xecot” April,2012

 UNITIKA succeeded in the development of world-class level heat-resistant polyamide resin “Xecot” from biomass-based raw materials. The resin is confirmed to possess superior physical properties and quality to competing products. The features of “Xeocot” are: 1) high heat-resistance/high crystallinity, 2) low water-absorbability, 3) high chemical resistance, 4) wear resistance, 5) electric property (electric insulation, etc.), 6) high quality, and 7) biomass-based (over 50 % biomass-based), etc. A wide range of application is expected by utilizing those features, for example, to LED reflector, SMT connector, automobile parts, electric/electronic parts, heat-resistant film, heat-resistant fiber, etc.
