NIPPON Dyneema, a corporate joint venture of TOYOBO and DSM Dyneema, expanded the production facility of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fiber “Dyneema”, which went into full operation from 1st December, 2011. The extended facility is the 4th production line in Tsuruga Plant (Fukui Prefecture), and a total production capacity together with the production line at Research Institute (Shiga Prefecture) is increased to 3,200 tons/year. The expanded production is expected to be applied to not only the conventional goods such as cutting-resistant-globes, ropes, etc. but also new applications in the civil engineering field.
