Unitika develops new nylon 6 resin. January,2022

【Supercategory:6. Products Subcategory:6.9 New products of 2021

Unitika has developed a new nylon 6 resin containing cellulose nanofibres (CNF), in which plant-based CNF are dispersed richly and evenly. The weight-saving resin has stiffness that is equal to or more than that of nylon 6 resin containing 30% of glass fibres, and is not much deformed by thermal change. Because it is able to be recovered for reuse, the sustainable material is expected to be used for auto parts, electronics and outdoor items, amid growing awareness of the environmental impact. Its physical properties are hardly damaged after recycled and used three times, thanks to the CNF that do not break during shredding and reforming of the resin.
