Toray has developed polyester wool “Pentas ?” of a specific shape with a flat cross-section, which has soft hand and possesses water-absorbency/diffusivity.
This polyester wool consists of fine 1.7 dtex fibers with micro-processed uneven surface. The water absorbent speed of this wool is about 4 times higher and its softness is improved 1.6 times better than conventional polyester staple wools. This polyester wool will be offered to the products ranging from inners/outers in clothing area and diapers/masks in nonwoven area by utilizing its characteristics of water absorbency/quick drying, soft touch and non-transparency.
